The State School of Higher Vocational Education in Ciechanów (Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Zawodowa w Ciechanowie, PWSZ in Ciechanów) was founded through an official decision of the Government of Poland in 2001. In 2019 the school changed itsname to Ignacy Mościcki’s University of Applied Sciences in Ciechanow (Państwowa Uczelnia Zawodowa im. Ignacego Mościckiego).
Our School offers 11 programmes of studies: Economics, Mechanics and Machine Construction, Agriculture, Computer Science, Environmental Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication, Logistics, Social Work, Nursing, Pedagogics and Internal Security. Other programmes are being prepared and will be started according to the interest of the youth.
Since its beginnings, more than 2200 alumni have graduated the School and all of them either continued their study or started successful professional careers. Everything thanks to the effort to equip our students with adequate theoretical knowledge needed during their continuation of study in Master's programmes and – most importantly – to prepare them to start successful professional careers.
We constantly try to perfect the didactic process through adjusting the curricula to the requirements of the global, national, and regional labour market. Every student has got a chance to master the skills of successful communication, gain and use knowledge adequate to contemporary social and economic development, and develop professional standards which will allow them to be valuable assets for the companies they are going to work for.
Our School offers various forms of qualification improvement, training and retraining for people who are already employed in various institutions, as well as the Third Age University. Courses, seminars, and post-graduate studies allow its participants to broaden their knowledge and improve skills.
We participate actively in the Erasmus Programme which allows our students to study and have training in other countries and host foreign students.
The time spent on studying is one of the most important periods in life. Not only does it offer students an intellectual adventure, but also allows them to indulge in sports, artistic, touristic, and cognitional activity. Therefore, the School supports sports, tourism, students' scientific circles, theatre, cabaret, music bands and an academic choir.
The representatives of the Student Government take active part in the proceedings of the faculty councils, the senate, and the convent. These are the students who decide on the distribution of scholarship means for those in need.
We offer dormitory places (next to the main building) for the students who do not live in Ciechanów and for foreign students – the rooms are for 2 or 3 tenants and provide connection with Internet and TV. Each floor has a kitchen with facilities, where students can prepare their own meals, but they also may use the canteen. And of course we have The Students Club which is in the same building as dormitory.
